'Knowledge is power!' Scholarship Program

'Knowledge is Power!' is a scholarship program for higher education students interning in Canada

The HCMA together with other Hungarian organizations in and around Toronto, aims to support Hungarian-speaking students pursuing higher education who are completing short-term internships in Canada.

The primary goal of this application is to help cover the costs associated with these internships.

Internship Support for Higher Education Students in Ontario

Purpose of the Program: The Hungarian Medical Association of Canada, in collaboration with Hungarian organizations operating in and around Toronto, offers financial support to Hungarian-speaking students from the Carpathian Basin who are pursuing short-term internships in Canada. The primary aim is to contribute to covering costs, thereby supporting the student’s education and expanding their professional opportunities.

Internship Location: Applicants are responsible for securing their own host institution that aligns with their field of study. The host institution may be any Canadian organization capable of providing internship or research opportunities relevant to the applicant’s academic program.

Elegibility:

Hungarian-speaking students enrolled in any higher education institution in the Carpathian Basin may apply if they meet the following criteria: - Have completed at least two active semesters in a BA/BSc, MA/MSc, or undivided program. - Are actively enrolled in a doctoral program or hold doctoral candidate status. - Possess at least a B2 level of English language proficiency. Internships in Canada may be completed during a passive semester or within 12 months after obtaining the final certificate (absolutorium). In the latter case, the application must be submitted while the student is still actively enrolled.

Duration if Intership:

Internships must last a minimum of two weeks and a maximum of one month.
Amount of support: The evaluation committee will determine the amount of financial support awarded. The grant is supplementary and will not cover all expenses related to the internship.
